Prayer Diary - July 2014

Sunday 3 August at 7pm - Civic Vigil of Prayer and Reflection to Commemorate the Outbreak of the First World War. This will be attended by the Mayor of Havant, Councillors, the Royal British Legion, Members of the Armed Forces and churches throughout the area. One hundred candles will be lit to mark the 100 years since the start of the conflict and gradually extinguished to echo "The lights going out all over Europe".  Poems and readings will be paired with scripture and prayers, silence and music for reflection as the church gradually becomes darker.  All are welcome to attend this landmark event.

Bell Ringers. The bell ringers will ring a quarter peal (lasts around 45 minutes) on Monday 4 August for the 100th anniversary of the commencement of World War I.  If any friends or relations know of anyone who was a bell ringer at St. Faith's and who was alive during the period 1914-1918 then please let Bill Skilleter know on 023 9225 3802
