The repair of the
tower roof and stonework of St. Faith's Church was
completed in December 2002 at a cost of £64,747.
St. Nicholas' Chapel,
Langstone, needed emergency repairs to the roof in 2002,
which cost £9,377.
The total cost of both
projects was £74,124.

The parishioners have
been organising various events to raise money (the
Flower Festival, 13-15 June 2003 raised
£2,130, the
Town Fair on 30 August 2003 raised £2,800,
the Town Fair
on 28 August 2004 raised
£3,455, the
Town Fair on 27 August 2005 raised £4,180, the Town Fair
on 26 August 2006 raised £4,548 , the
Town Fair on
8 September 2007 raised £4,680, the
Flower Festival,
27-29 June 2008 raised £1,700, the Town Fair
on 6 September 2008 raised £3,883 despite the
inclement weather, and the
Town Fair on 5
September 2009 raised £4,384.
Although the external
work has been completed, parishioners are continuing to
organise events to raise
money for internal
work to the church that must be done, notably the
priority items stated in the Quinquennial Report -
estimated cost for 2010 is £59,700 - the lighting,
the sound system and maintenance of the organ. In
2009, the Lady Chapel roof was repaired at a cost of
£11,000 and Fire Prevention to Church House and the
hall cost £10,500.

taxpayer and you contribute to the Restoration Appeal
using Gift Aid, for every pound you give the Restoration
Appeal gets an extra 28 pence from the Inland
Revenue, helping your donation go further. Gift Aid
allows the Restoration Appeal to reclaim the basic rate
of income tax you've paid on the donation.

Sarah's work has
been described by one critic as being "full of light,
colour, hope, innocence and love". St. Faith's has all
these attributes, and as the same critic said, "snap it
up; bring sunshine - and a touch of magic - into your
home".
